Tales we Heard on the Silk Road can serve as a quick reference for any children's troupe, theater department or Sunday School teacher who is seeking to incorporate multicultural tales infused with transcendental values into a stage production or existing curriculum. The book is composed of six short plays, two puppet shows and seven reader's theater pieces that draw their inspiration from ancient, poetic heavyweights like Farid Uddin Attar, Jalal Uddin Rumi and M. Saadi but are adapted into a format that would be best enjoyed by the modern elementary and/or middle school age child and accompanying family. If you are familiar with the timeless wisdom of Rumi or Saadi then you can appreciate the content of this book. As a teacher, I know that I could easily incorporate any of the readers' theater pieces into a language arts or even a Sunday school lesson.

Broken English, no proofreading, spelling, missing chars in the code, steps not explained, lousy formatting. I requested a refund. For a good Linux driver reference, check out Linux Device Drivers, 3rd Edition, in PDF format, available free online.

Kathy Sylva is Professor of Educational Psychology at University of Oxford. She has researched extensively in the education and care of young children. She has published widely on issues of Early Childhood quality and equality. Klitzeklein aber Useful

Ok, so I should have looked at the dimensions. But after searching through scores of children's books, I didn't think to compare the sizes of every single one. Jeeze-Louise this book is tiny. If my babe moves my hand a bit, I lose my place because of the tiny text on the tiny book (as I say in Ben Stiller's model voice from Zoolander). After laughing at this itty thing and realizing that it's not worth returning, I started to like the darn thing!

It fits nicely in our diaper bag. And could easily fit in my husband's back pocket. You never know when you'll have to wait somewhere and need to entertain the little one.

nice to have a bilingual classic in the house

If you've read "The very hungry caterpillar" in English, you know the story and art. While translations always require some wiggle in the language, the German version is identical to the English in this case because Eric Carle is (was?) English-German bilingual and handled both language editions himself.
Having both copies means you can expose a child not only to the caterpillar life cycle, fruit, counting, days of the week and effects of overindlugence, but also bilingualism. Pretty cool for a book for little people.

My daughter loves this book. It is exactly to the English version with little "holes" where the catapillar ate thru the food. it is also great for me to improve my German. Would recommend it to any parent fro kids over 18mo.
